It was sold for $106,482,500 to a anonymous person who bought it by telephone. This painting was form the collection of Los Angeles philanthropist Frances Lasker. The previous highest price in an auction was $104,327,006 paid for "L'Homme Qui Marche I, bronze", by Alberto Giacometti, on the auction of Sotheby's on a anonymous telephone call.
